Kenneth Wayne Barrow, Sr., 79, of 80 Ambergate Drive, Bassett, died Monday November 21, 2011 at Roanoke Memorial. He was born in Henry County on February 1, 1932 to the late George Dewey Barrow and Mabel Estelle Coone Barrow. He was retired after thirty five years with DuPont where he worked in supervision. He was a member of Fort Trial Baptist Church, past member of Oak Level Ruritan and the Pythian.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by one brother, Alvis Eugene Barrow.
Surviving are his wife, Juanita Scott Barrow of the home, two sons, Kenneth Wayne Barrow II of Durham, NC and Stephen Shane Barrow of Rancho Mirage, California, one step-daughter, Paula Wyatt of Collinsville, one step-son, E. Scott Jones of Bassett, one brother, Glenwood D. Barrow of Georgia, nine grandchildren, four great grandchildren and two nephews.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Saturday, November 26, 2011 at Fort Trial Baptist Church with Rev. Joey McNeill officiating. Interment will be in Roselawn Burial Park. The family will receive friends 6-8p.m. Friday, November 25, 2011 in the chapel of Collins Funeral Home of Bassett.

My family and I did not know Ken had passed away until Xmas Eve. The last time I saw him was at my Mom's funeral visitation. I am very sorry for your loss and I know he will be sadly missed. I can see his smile now!

I'M VERY SORRY TO HEAR OF KEN'S PASSING. HE AND I WERE VERY CLOSE FRIENDS FROM THR FOURTH THRU SEVENTH GRADE AT SOUTH MARTINSVILLE ELEMENTARY. I HAVE GREAT MEMORIES OF US PLAYING BASEBALL AND BASKETBALL ON THE SAME TEAM. WE SORT OF WENT SEPERATE WAYS AFTER SOUTH MARTINSVILLE. WITH THE KOREAN WAR,COLLEG THEN LEAVING MARTINSVILLE WE LOST TOUCH COMPLETELY.I WOULD LIKE TO EXTEND MY CONDOLENCES TO THE FAMILY. I KNOW IT IS A GREAT LOSS TO EACH MEMBER OF THE FAMILY AND FRIENDS. Kenny Barrow was such an awesome man. I will miss him and will pray for the family.
