On October 27, 2013, Kenneth H. Buege passed away at Life Care Center located in Sarasota, Florida. Ken died after a brief illness brought on by acute liver failure. Visitation will be held from 1 to 2 pm on Saturday, Nov 16, 2013 at Palms-Robarts Funeral Home, 170 Honore Ave., Sarasota, Florida. Services will be held at 2 pm following visitation at the funeral home. While his illness and death came on quickly, he was never contented to be here once his wife, Grace (Peacock) Buege, had left this world.

Ken was born in Hodgkins, Illinois, on February 20, 1936, in his grandparent's house. He was the older of two children, born to Harvey and Edna (Schoenbeck) Buege. His younger sister, Charl Moore, preceded him in death as have both of his parents and his nephew, Jeffrey Moore.

In 1958, Ken married Carol Lynn Rupp in Illinois. One year later he was drafted into the US Army and served in Korea and Texas. Upon discharge, he returned to work at General Motors as a journeyman tool and die maker. Ken and Carol bought their first home in 1961 for a price of $16,200 to which his father wondered how they could afford such an expensive home. They lived in the home for several years and had two children, K. Robert and Tamara Lynn. They later divorced in 1988 after 27 years of marriage.

Ken met Grace Peacock while working in Pennsylvania for Amp Electronics in 1989. A year later, they were married in a ceremony in which all of their respective children participated. They lived a very full life together, traveling abroad almost every year, and visiting kids as their schedule would allow. In 2007, Grace was diagnosed with an aggressive brain cancer. She courageously fought for five years and they managed to stay pretty active in between the various medical treatments. Grace passed away in December 2012.

Ken is survived by his two children from his first marriage to Carol (Rupp) Buege. His son, K. Robert lives in Sarasota, Florida, with his wife, Susan (Swatek) and their daughters, Emily and Alexis. Ken's daughter, Tamara Greenwood, resides in Saratoga Springs, New York with her husband, Jon and their two daughters, Rachel and Laurel. Ken is fondly and lovingly remembered by his nieces whom he knew through his marriage to Carol. He is also missed by Grace's children, John Peacock, Geryl Miller and Laura Meierkort, and Grace's grandsons, Jake and Joey Miller.

While we had hoped that Dad would be here longer for his children and grandchildren to share in his life, we know that he is with the Lord and reunited with many loved ones.
