HMC Kenneth George DePlanche USNavy Retired, 74, of Richlands for 43 years died Saturday, October 27, 2012 at Quinn Hospice Center in Kenansville. He was a member of the Richlands United Methodist Church. Mr. DePlanche served in the US Navy and was a Chief Hospital Corpsman during the Vietnam Era in 1971, 1972. He later retired from the Navy and continued to work with Camp Lejeune in the computer center at the Naval Hospital and was also a Safety Officier and Air Monitor person. He was preceded in death by his parents: Francis & Rosemary DePlanche; sisters: Nancy Ann Last, Michelle Jean McCallister.

A Memorial Service will be held Friday, November 2, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. at the Coastal Carolina State Veteran's Cemetery with Full Military Honors.

He is survived by his wife of 48 years: Nancy Lee Champagne DePlanche; sons: Kenneth George DePlanche, Jr. of Durham, Bruce Alain DePlanche of Louisville, Ky.; sisters: Diane Czarnecki of Cudahy, Wisc., Karen McCallister of Milwaukee, Wisc.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the VFW or the USO.
