Kenneth Winter, born November 25, 1923 to Raymond and Edith (Arnold) Winter in upstate New York, passed away April 2, 2014. He was a member of Kiwanis and a former Boy Scout troop leader. During World War II he served his country in the US Army, fought in the Battle of the Bulge and was awarded the Bronze Star. During the Army of Occupation he played football with the 101st Airborne Team. After retiring from the State of Michigan Department of Transportation he worked in real estate and operated the Glass Palace Bingo Hall. Kenneth Winter, born November 25, 1923 to Raymond and Edith (Arnold) Winter in upstate New York, passed away April 2, 2014. He was a member of Kiwanis and a former Boy Scout troop leader. During World War II he served his country in the US Army, fought in the Battle of the Bulge and was awarded the Bronze Star. Kenneth was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Robert and Bruce Winter and grandson, Eric Winter. Surviving to cherish his memory are his wife of 64 years, Mary Winter; children, Susan (Mike Barnes) Winter of Harbor Springs, Richard (Judy) Winter of DeWitt, Ann (Bruce) Grambau of DeWitt, and Kathleen (Dave) Rilett of Ada; grandchildren, Jenna (Erik), Megan, Shelby, Jake, Zach, Eli and Sawyer. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, April 5th, at Grace United Methodist Church, 1900 Boston Blvd. in Lansing. Private interment will take place at DeWitt Cemetery at a later time. Family will receive friends from 4 to 8 p.m. on Friday, April 4th, at Gorsline Runciman Funeral Homes, 205 E. Washington in DeWitt. In lieu of flowers those desiring may make contributions to the Eric "RicStar" Winter Music Therapy Camp, Expendable Fund AE 06771, at the MSU Community Music School, 4930 S. Hagadorn Rd., East Lansing, MI 48823, cms.msu.edu, in memory of Kenneth Winter.
