There's only one thing I know...life is impermanent. My Uncle Kent just passed away today, age 60. A collector of guitars, music, classic lunchboxes, Winchesters, old-fashioned floor radios, and anything that might find it's way to the Antiques Roadshow. He was a walking history book, a real character, a Daniel Boone of sorts. We laughed and we laughed a lot ! Quirky to most, Uncle Kent to me. Thanks for the truth, the love, the music, the education and all our good belly laughs. We were so agreeable. I'll miss it, all of it. Fly free Uncle. May the music be more beutiful than ever.

So sad to hear of your passing. Like Paul said, where did the time go? You were such an important influence in the lives of my kids. Your adventurous spirit will live on through them. You always had the time and interest to dote on them like they were your family. There's another start shining brightly somewhere over the big Montana sky. Thought and prayers to your family.

I'm just in shock... So, so sad to have learned of your passing so late after the fact. What happened that three years have passed since we spoke and the time passed so quickly?

My love and condolences to your family and friends.

Using the internet to try and find my old friend Kent after many years, I was saddened and shocked to find out he has passed away. My heart goes out to Stefania and Dale and all those who loved him. I often think about him and our fun times. Sorry we lost touch but I am left with fond memories.

Well, it's Christmas time now (as you well know). I saw your Mom last week and she is having a tough time missing you. I am missing your wanting to wrap everything by Dec. 1st, and making your door swag too. Mostly, I just miss your presence, you being you,and grilled cheese sandwiches & tomato soup. Hope there are big celebrations of Christmas in heaven. Love ya'. Yeah, I do, but not in the way you think. You were (are) my BEST friend! Merry Angel Christmas, Kent.

You are outside cuz you painted that as well, and you cut my grass. Thanks for being my best friend...I still miss you, my friend! Probably always will. K

Well Mr. Kent, I hadn't seen you recently but I did missed you. As a matter of fact, Greg just asked if I'd heard from you. I will miss you, the trips to "Kent's Cabin", the dinners on Butterfield Dr, the dinners in Lisbon and all the goofiness. You were one of a kind and yes as Kay put it, your quirkiness. Your quirkiness was your charm. I can't believe you're gone, it's just too weird to think about. I will never forget you my buddy! Love You and we'll meet agin one day. I had the great pleasure of knowing Kent for several years. He was my mother's best friend, and always quite pleasant to be around. I'll always recall eating crabs on my deck with he and my mom, the way he would play with and tickle my son Gannon, and the easy, simple demeanor he always exuded. I remember we had some wonderful conversations about everything from firearms to politics to relationships.

You were a good man Kent Martin, and you will be missed my friend. Shoot straight up there, keep the shiny side up and be at peace.

Your friend,
Ian

It was a real pleasure to meet Kent and Katharine on several visits to my antique shop in West Annapolis - and we had a number or very pleasant discussions about vintage merchandise - and life in general. I will miss Kent's sharp wit and very friendly manner - it was my privilege to get to know him. I know that we will meet again on the other side - and I will look forward to talking again about life......My sincere condolences to Katharine and Kent's family.

Dear K,
I'm going to miss all the laughs and memorable experiences we had over the years. You have always been a great friend even though I never liked your Parrish prints, the radios, the guns, and the tapestry you had hanging on the ceiling in the basement of your mother's townhouse in Columbia. And you stayed friends with me even though I didn't give you the "Three Monkeys" and the JBL speakers.
I will miss you Kent, in fact, I already have.

Well Kent, If you are reading this, then they have the internet in heaven. The last time I saw you was in early Fall of 2012. The last time we talked was before Christmas. It does not seem right that you have returned to from which we came. It seems too soon. You had a prana that I did not sense was ending. Your departure has only reinforced the necessity to make the most of each moment we have, to not waste the connections we have with other living and sentient beings. You picked up a ball that had been dropped so very long ago. For that I thank you. You will be missed, you already are. I'm glad I was able to get to know you a bit. The world will never be the same.
PS: Those HoCo boys in blue have your armory. Do something up there to get them back in the hands of your clan.

What is God's bandwidth?

Goodbye, to my best friend. I will miss you til I die. Maybe, there are antique shops, amish pretzels, grilled cheese sandwiches & tomato soup, great salads, and steamed shrimp in heaven for us. I got a new dog today...I'm gonna name him Bodrey for you. Don't know how to get along without you, talking to you. You may not have liked it, but you really are my best friend and I loved you for that. Please know that I loved you in spite of all your quirkiness. I don't know how to get along without you...K
