Kent Snapp, 77, of Loch Lloyd, MO went to be with his Lord and Savior on April 4, 2013, after suffering a stroke the week prior. Kent was born on January 24, 1936, in Pontiac, IL. He married Kathleen "Kay" Heflin on February 1, 1958, and they shared fifty-five years of love, respect and friendship together. In addition to his beloved wife, Kent is survived by his two children and their families: Greg and Marian Snapp (Mary, Samuel, and Stewart), and Cheryl Swartz (Matthew, Alexander, and Hanna). Kent Snapp, 77, of Loch Lloyd, MO went to be with his Lord and Savior on
April 4, 2013, after suffering a stroke the week prior. Kent was born on January 24, 1936,
in Pontiac, IL. He married Kathleen "Kay" Heflin on February 1, 1958, and they
shared fifty-five years of love, respect and friendship together. In addition to his beloved
wife, Kent is survived by his two children and their families: Greg and Marian Snapp
(Mary, Samuel, and Stewart), and Cheryl Swartz (Matthew, Alexander, and Hanna). Kent is also survived by his siblings Juanita (Tom) McConnell of Springfield, MO and James (Beverly) of Aloha, OR. He was preceded in death by his parents, James C. and Mary Lee Snapp.

Kent grew up in Springfield, MO and graduated from Greenwood High School
in 1953. He received a B.S. in Business from the University of Missouri in Columbia in
in 1957. He proudly served in the U.S. Army and retired with the rank of captain. Kent
received his law degree from the University of Missouri School of Law in 1961 where he
was Managing Editor of Law Review and President of the Board of Governors. In that
same year, he joined the law firm of Johnson, Lucas and Bush in Kansas City, MO,
where he practiced for thirty years. In 1992, Kent was appointed the Administrator of the
Early Assessment Program for the U.S. District Court. He retired from this position in
2012.

Kent is remembered by his family as being diligent, dependable, knowledgeable, and
wise. He enjoyed the Rocky Mountains with his family at their home in Estes
Park, CO, traveling with Kay especially in Germany, Switzerland, and Austria, playing
golf, spending time with his grandchildren, fly-fishing, and studying the Bible study as
well as history.

There will be a memorial service to celebrate Kent's life at The Church of the
Resurrection Wesley Covenant Chapel, 13720 Roe Avenue, Leawood, KS 66224 on
Tuesday, April 9 at 3:30 p.m. with a reception following. The family would like to
thank the staff at St. Luke's Neuroscience Institute and Kansas City Hospice House for
their compassionate care. A huge debt of gratitude is owed to many members of The
Church of the Resurrection as well as other friends for their love, encouragement,
prayers, and thoughtful acts of kindness to the family. In lieu of flowers, memorial
