Kerri Michelle Holland, 41 went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, April 24, 2014 peacefully at home in Hanford with her family & friends at her bedside after a battle with Metastatic Ocular Melanoma. Kerri was born to Ronnie and Rexanne Holland on February 5, 1973, in Longview, Texas. She came to Hanford at the age of seven. She attended Pioneer Elementary and Woodrow Wilson Junior High Schools. Kerri graduated from Hanford High School with the class of 1991. In 2000 she received her Registered Nursing License and Associate of Science Degree in Nursing from College of the Sequoias. While attending school, she worked alongside her mother, Rexanne, for 10 years at the Pioneer Latchkey Program.

In entering the nursing profession, Kerri found her true joy. In 2000, Kerri gave birth to her son; Kyler, the love of her life. Kerri then began her nursing career 2 months later at Central Valley General Hospital. She transferred to Adventist Health Medical Center in 2009, working until her health no longer permitted. She demonstrated a great deal of love and compassion to patients and their families and was loved by them in return. Kerri was described by co-workers as honest, hard working, loyal, energetic, compassionate, efficient and always an impeccable in her appearance. She will be greatly missed by her many friends.

Kerri was a loving daughter, sister, mother, aunt and friend. Her positive attitude was contagious. She had many interests and enjoyed life to the fullest. Kerri loved going to the beach, especially when it allowed her to spend quality time with her son, Kyler. On the weekends you would find her playing games with family and friends. Her favorite game was "Catch Phrase". Any time Kyler had a soccer game or a track meet, Kerri was there to cheer him on. Kerri also enjoyed watching movies and munching on popcorn and M & M's. Anyone who knew Kerri, knew of her love for dolphins. Whether it be the décor in her home, at her work, or even in her vehicles, you would find her surrounded by dolphins.

Traveling through the United States was something Kerri enjoyed immensely. In her travels she was able to visit Connecticut, Hawaii, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New York and Rhode Island. One item on her "bucket list" was to visit New Orleans, Louisiana to see the fireflies, which she was able to do in April, 2014. Though it was a very difficult trip for her, she enjoyed sharing this special memory with her mother, father and her precious son, Kyler.

Kerri attended First Baptist Church of Hanford. She was very excited to have accepted Jesus Christ in 2011, and her baptism held very special meaning for her. She enjoyed participating in Bible Studies and other church functions and learning as much as she could about her Lord. She made many special friends while attending FBH.

Kerri is survived by her parents; Ronnie and Rexanne Holland, and her son, Kyler Holland all of Hanford. She is also survived by her brother; Brandon Holland and wife Laura, as well as her three nephews, Blaine, Blake and Bryce Holland all of Fresno.

In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to the "OMF" Ocular Melanoma Foundation - PO Box 29261, Richmond, VA 23242.

A Graveside Service will be held on Friday, May 2, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at Kings River Cemetery; 10499 Dover Avenue, Hanford, CA 93230. A Celebration of Kerri's Life will follow immediately.
