Kerry Duane Stamps passed away Saturday, July 15, 2017.
He was preceded in death by his father, Bill Stamps; three brothers, Timmy, Mike Stamps, and Bobby Nash. He's survived by his wife, Sandra Renay Stamps; mother, Janice Vincent; daughter, Sandra Donnette Johnson; three grandsons, Christopher Wilson, T.J. and Jordan Johnson; great-grandson, Kaiden Wilson; brother, Tony Stamps.
Born in Douglasville, Ga., he had lived in Calhoun county for the past 22 years. Being a Navy veteran he was buried on July 31, 2017 with full military honors in the National Cemetery in Montevallo.
As taps played, the flag was folded and presented to Kerry's wife of 37 years, Renay. Commencement was given by his brother, Tony Stamps who spoke of him as a peacemaker. Kerry loved life, God, family, friends and fishing. Joseph Hansford gave the benediction reminding us Kerry will always be in our hearts and minds. Kaiden Wilson placed his Paw's remains in the memorial wall.
So, goodnight, travel homeward to God with fair winds, calm seas and our love. Farewell to a beautiful son-in-law, loving husband, wonderful daddy and the greatest Paw in the world. We love you.
