Kevin Moore Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Oct. 9, 2016.

Kevin James Kristanot Moore, of Greenwich, CT, passed away on October 7, 2016. Kevin was born December 15, 1981, at Greenwich Hospital. He attended North Street School, CMS, Greenwich High School (Class of 2000) and received a Bachelor of Arts degree, in literature, from SUNY Purchase. From there he went on to be an author, correspondent and artist. "Kevin James Moore is the greatest author of his generation. He has written for over 300 publications. He is a former United Nations correspondent. The man is a legend."Kevin, also known as alienbrain, K-Dawg, KMO and Y2K, spent his whole life in Greenwich and made great contributions during his 34 jam-packed years. He enjoyed turtle hunting and frequented the Mianus River to hone his skills with his brothers and father. A talented athlete, he played for many sports teams in the area and won countless championships. He gained fame playing for the Glenville Mavericks, Greenwich Taxi, and Greenwich Firefighters. His major sports accomplishments were when he pitched and recorded the save, in the same game, to give Greenwich Taxi a championship; played defense, with three of his brothers, to give Greenwich Firefighters a championship; and his twisted wrister in pond hockey. He collected and read comics, graphic novels and trading cards. His favorite X-Men was Wolverine and loved TMNT: Raphael. He left no conspiracy theory unexplored and developed supernatural video gaming skills. His favorite games were Zelda, Secret of Mana, Chrono Trigger and Final Fantasy. The force was always strong with Kevin and he loved watching, researching and blogging Star Wars. Kevin enjoyed his sports and passionately followed the NJ Devils, Jets and loved the NY Mets. Some of his favorite sports figures to follow/pester include: Francesa/Mongo, Piazza, DWright, Pennington, Testaverde, Owen Hart, Harvey, Bobby V., Lance, Herm, and The Sanchize. He considered 'The Sanchez Buttfumble' as the most intriguing sports moment in modern sports. He loved to listen and collect music. Some of his favorites were Bowie, The Strokes, The Vines, Oasis (preferred Liam), Radiohead, Pearl Jam, Death Cab, Bright Eyes, The Libertines, Doherty, The Kills, and Dylan. His favorite band was The Beatles and his favorite Beatle was John. He spent many years performing stand-up comedy in the tri-state area. His major influences were Sandler, Hedberg, Cross, Noel Fielding and Kaufman. He recently upstaged Fielding during a performance. His articles have been published by Pulse, Media Global, The Vancouver Sun, The Animals Voice Magazine, All Africa, Asian Geographic Magazine, The Budapest Report, H+ Magazine, Robot Magazine, World News, The African Magazine, Humanitarian News, Earthwire, The International Development Centre, Art Matters, Indigenous Climate Portal, Top Thailand Vacation, Daily News of Cambodia, and with links to articles appearing on the USA Today, NPR, SciDev.net, and NY Daily News websites. He created The Modern Gent Press in 2009 and it is today regarded as, "the best book publisher of all time with the greatest writers of their generation." He helped launch the podcast, Certified Insanity, with his friends. His literary influences were Proust, Poe, Lennon and Hemmingway, but he considered F. Scott Fitzgerald the best author and The Great Gatsby, the best novel of all time. His famous artistic achievements include, Little David, Blue Snow, Marie Antoinette Let Them Have Beach, Shallow Space Afternoon and The Go-Go Girl. His unfinished work was titled, After The Asp Bites. He loved pizza and wants to be remembered as a writer. He leaves his family with memories of his courage, character, honesty, humor and intelligence. He is survived by his father, Edward, mother, Waree, and four brothers; Witt, Matt, Steven and Rob. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, October 15th at the Leo P. Gallagher & Son Funeral Home, 31 Arch Street , Greenwich. A memorial gathering will be held prior to the service from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the funeral home. Interment will take place at Saint Mary Cemetery, North Street Greenwich. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Story Shares: http://storyshares.org/donate. Kevin James Moore
My best friend. You taught me so much. I could always count on you. Period. To make me laugh. To listen. To tell me the truth. You were always available wherever I was physically or emotionally. When the Mets won. And all those times when the Mets lost. For my whole life. My world is forever changed without you. And now the world at large has a rift that will never be sewn back together quite the same. You are and will continue to be severely missed. There are no replacements for this type of loss. There are hardly even words to accurately express this either. We've had a great ride together and I'm devastated that you had to get off it when and as you did. Know I love you. Know I will continue thinking of you and your family. And know that we'll see each other again when the universe deems it appropriate.
