Kevin Mosley, thirty three years resident of Phoenix, Arizona died on March 5, 2013 of complications from Leukemia. He was born on August 27, 1938 in Chicago, Illinois the son of John and Kathryn Dyer Mosley, both of whom preceded him in death. He is survived by his wife, Cassandra Mason-Motz of Phoenix, Arizona and his daughter, Christine Filimonova, of San Francisco, California.
He attended DePaul University in Chicago, and soon went to work as a reporter for Chicago Today/Chicago American newspapers (owned by the Chicago Tribune), during which time he was nominated for a Pulitzer Prize. He then went to work for the Illinois Commerce Commission. Kevin was a man of unique insights and perspective; he counseled utilities in Arizona, including APS, AT&T during the divestiture and later US West. He believed firmly in civil rights. Kevin will be missed for his wry humor and social/political commentaries.
No formal services will be held. A celebration of Kevin's life is being planned in the future. Friends wishing to honor Kevin's life are encouraged to donate to either the Animal Welfare League or KJZZ or KBAQ radio stations.

I will treasure your Mother's birthday at Peter Wong's when she and Kevin shared their sweet wit and that platter of flat noodles with us. My heart breaks for all of you. Know that Meg and I hold you close in our hearts, and pray for your comfort.

Kevin was a source of extraordinary insight and counsel for me, one who provided uncommon guidance and direction through complex political and regulatory issues. More than that, his light and smile broke through our daily musings with a rare wit and refreshing candor that I will always remember, and always treasure.

I join all of your friends in holding you in prayer these days, Cassandra. May Kevin be at peace, and may you and Christine know the consolation that St. John Chrysostom describes: Those whom we love and lose are no longer where they were before. They are now wherever we are.
