Kim Frago, age 62, of Mesa, passed away on Saturday, December 21, 2013. She was born February 24, 1951, in Rock Springs, Wyoming, daughter of Emerson "Glenn" Atkinson and Ramona Arnett Lake Atkinson. She married the love of her life, Patrick L. Frago, on January 29, 1972. He survives.
Kim was a woman of many interests. She volunteered as an Assistant Troop Leader for the Girl Scouts. She enjoyed organizing troop meetings that included cooking, craftwork, and outdoor activities. She knew the importance of teaching the girls traditional values. She also had a special place in her heart for the Special Olympics. She loved to travel and also enjoyed camping with her family. Her Sunday dinners with family were a tradition embraced by all and will be greatly missed. She loved to cook and try new things. She always seemed to have a new dish for everyone to try. Kim was a wonderful daughter, wife, mother, and grandmother. She is greatly missed. All who knew her are forever changed for the better.
In addition to her husband, Kim is survived by: her mother, Ramona Atkinson; two daughters, Shelly Lynn Hughes and her husband Joseph Hughes, and Vicky A. Frago Hunter; and three granddaughters, Katelyn, Mackenzie, and Sophia. She is preceded in death by her father, Emerson "Glenn" Atkinson, and a brother Emerson Glen Atkinson.
A celebration of Kim's life will be held on Sunday, December 29, 2013, at 12 noon, in the Hospitality Center at Mariposa Gardens Memorial Park, 6747 E. Broadway, Mesa Arizona.
