Kitty McPherson-Kravitz
October 26, 1926 - March 31, 2015
To all who knew her, Kitty was a delight to be around. She was a talented musician, multi-time president of Ladies Music Club, member and Corporation Board President of Gamma Phi Beta Sorority, and a graduate of the Oklahoma City University School of Music where she studied piano and harp and later taught harp. These are only a small sampling of all of Kitty's accomplishments. She was so many things to so many people, but to a small and extremely blessed group of us, she was wife, mom, mom-in-law and grandmother. Kitty set a nearly unmatchable example of what grace and class looks like. We will never forget her unending and uplifting faith in Christ, her positive outlook on life and her willingness to put others first.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Dr. and Mrs. H.A. Higgins of Ardmore, OK, husband, William H. "Hal" McPherson, daughter-in-law, Cheryl McPherson, and sister-in-law, Doris Gary. She is survived by her husband Dr. Herbert Kravitz, son Brad McPherson and wife Julie, sister-in-law Clara Storm, step-sons Bruce Kravitz and wife Kathy and Alan Kravitz and wife Lisa, grandsons Kyle, Colton and Kevin, and step-grandchildren Scott, Lauren and Mandy.
The McPherson-Kravitz family would like to extend a special thanks to the entire community and staff of Concordia Life Care Community for the blessing of their love and friendship to us and to our Mom and your "Miss Kitty." Words cannot begin to express how blessed we were and Kitty was to be part of your family. You are THE best!
A memorial celebration of Kitty's amazing life is planned for 2pm, Wednesday, April 8, 2015 at Concordia Life Care Community, 7707 W. Britton Rd., OKC, OK 73132 in the Independent Living Dining/Events Room.
The family has requested that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to "Ladies Music Club, C/O The OKC Community Foundation" at PO Box 1146, Oklahoma City, OK 73101. Donations given are tax-deductible. Please reference Kitty McPherson in the memo area of the check.
