Korey Adam Barnes, 25, of Fremont died Saturday, Sept. 10, 2011, at Parkview Hospital, Fort Wayne.
He was born May 4, 1986, in Angola to Jonathan "John" and Cindy L. (Ulcher) Barnes. His mother preceded him in death on Feb. 20, 2008, and his father survives in Stroh.
Mr. Barnes married Kyla L. Petre on May 5, 2006, at Angola, and she survives in Fremont.
He formerly worked for Wenzel Metal Spinners in Angola.
He attended Fremont schools and participated in wrestling and football. He lived his entire life in Steuben County. He enjoyed watching MMA Mixed Martial Arts, fishing, being a father, having cookouts, and spending time with his family.
Surviving are his wife, Kyla Barnes; a son, Kaiden Barnes, at home in Fremont; his father, John Barnes and Rebecca Hardiek in Stroh; one brother and sister-in-law, Keith and Roxanne Barnes in Angola; one sister, Tia Barnes in Fort Wayne; and one grandmother, Diana Barnes in Weidman, Mich.
Calling will be 3-5 p.m. Tuesday, September 13, 2011 at Beams Funeral Home, Fremont. Services will be at the funeral home at 5 p.m. Tuesday, September 13, 2011, with the Rev. Lynn Eicher officiating.
