Leora Eddy, 93 died due to complications of age on February 8, 2014, in Salt Lake City, UT. Born October 31, 1920, Sandy, UT to Glen Leslie Wellington and Ivy Caroline Gertrude Savage, she married Byrd Eddy on June 29, 1940. She worked for J.C. Penney as the Head of Merchandise Office for 27 years. She loved bowling, golfing, traveling, dancing, crocheting, and celebrating with friends and family. One of the highlights of her life was traveling with the Wasatch Wagons Motor Home Club. She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, and friend. Leora Eddy, 93 died due to complications of age on February 8, 2014, in Salt Lake City, UT.
Born October 31, 1920, Sandy, UT to Glen Leslie Wellington and Ivy Caroline Gertrude Savage, she married Byrd Eddy on June 29, 1940.
She worked for J.C. Penney as the Head of Merchandise Office for 27 years. She loved bowling, golfing, traveling, dancing, crocheting, and celebrating with friends and family. One of the highlights of her life was traveling with the Wasatch Wagons Motor Home Club. She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, and friend.
Survived by daughter, Sue (Dan) Kaye; son-in-law, Paul Pearson; sister-in-law, Jean Smith; grandchildren, Randy (Lesa) Pearson, Terri (Dave) Humphrey, Polly (Ali) Pearson-Terry, Peter Chamberlain; and great-grandchildren, Andrew Humphrey, Ashley Humphrey, Jesse Pearson, Holly Pearson, Sophie Pearson-Terry, Finley Pearson-Terry, and Crosby Pearson-Terry. Preceded in death by her parents; her husband; her sister, Jennie Speaks; and her daughter, Linda Pearson.
Services will be held at 1pm Saturday February 15, 2014 at Our Saviours Lutheran Church, 2500 East 3900 South. Friends may call on Friday February 14, 2014 from 5-8 p.m. at Wasatch Lawn Mortuary, 3401 South Highland Drive and on Saturday at the Church 1 hour prior to services. Interment, Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park. Funeral Directors, Wasatch Lawn Mortuary. Luncheon at Our Saviours to follow internment.
The family would like to thank her friends and neighbors who have made her life more comfortable for the last few years. In lieu of flowers, please donate to the Leora Eddy Memorial Fund at Our Saviours Lutheran Church.
