I treasure the time I have known this man. He treated me well, many times went a extra mile or two. He also over looked short comings. My brother Mark G. and I often speak of our time with Spo and the legend of his character. Bigger than life, he was the John Wayne of our neighborhood. So versatile, strong, quick to help, quick to set you straight,a mentor,a protector. He loved his family and did many unselfish acts for them as well as myself.I have many examples of these. I am glad God blessed me with all these times, and I wish the Bridges family peace and comfort during this time.

Mary, I am so sorry for the loss of your father. It is never easy to say that final "goodbye" but knowing that your Mother and Father are together again, and pain free makes is easier. You are in my thoughts and prayers.

Spo was a one of a kind guy. He was so down to earth, funny and such a pleasure to talk to and be with. One of my fondest memories is sitting with Spo at the cabins in Ocala, talking until the wee hours of the morning while drinking wine and eating what must have been 30 blue crabs! Everyone so enjoyed his company. I think his was a life well lived and we are all the better for having known him.
