Lana Sue (Nutt) Balzrette of Marlin passed away Sunday, September 1, 2013 at Scott & White Hospital in Temple. Services will be Thursday, September 5 at 10 a.m. at Adams Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Garry Nutt & the Rev. Ray Blundell officiating. Burial will follow in the Hillcrest Cemetery with a reception to then be held at the Nutt Pavilion on Pear Orchard Lane, CR 220. Lana Sue (Nutt) Balzrette of Marlin passed away Sunday, September 1, 2013 at Scott & White Hospital in Temple. Lana was born January 26, 1962 in Marlin to Harlan Earl and Frances Sowders Nutt. Her parents owned and operated several dry cleaners in Marlin and she basically was raised in the business. Lana worked alongside her parents in the family business for a period of time, but also had several other jobs, one of which was a loan officer. She loved life and tried to live each day to the fullest. Lana was always happy and smiling, often cracking jokes to an excess. She had such a positive attitude and radiated love and happiness. She loved animals and she enjoyed playing games, on the computer or on a table with a deck of cards…..Solitaire was one of her favorites. Lana loved to have fun and she was active in many things, including the Social Sorority AKS.

Lana's warmth, optimism and smile will be greatly missed by everyone that knew and loved her.

She was preceded in death by her father, Harlan Earl Nutt; sisters, Beverly Jean Nutt and Cathy Stevens; husband, Mark Balzrette; sons, Mark and Matthew; and grandson, Samuel.

Lana leaves behind to cherish her memory her mother, Frances Nutt of Marlin; children, Brooke Balzrette, Whitney Jackson and Michael Stott; grandchildren, Sophie, Mia, Alvaro, C.J. and Christopher; sisters, Linda Scaman of Marlin and Sandra Berry and husband Darin of Marlin as well as numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

Pallbearers will be Ricky Scaman, Bradley Urive, James Johnson, Zach Bonnier, Kirt Murphey, Pete Nehring, Jonathan Martinez and Tyler Jackson. Honorary Pallbearers include Michael Stott, Darin Berry, Joe Lababera and Martin Matelski.
