Larry W. Barton, wonderful husband, father, and son left peacefully to be with his Lord on February 9, 2010. Larry was born to Howard and Lois Barton January 19, 1950 in Killeen, Texas. He graduated from Killeen High School in 1968 and then earned his B.S. in Marketing from Texas A&M University in 1972. Larry then worked for Woolworth's in Texas, Oklahoma and Missouri and was later in a Finance position at Central Texas College in Killeen. Larry W. Barton, wonderful husband, father, and son left peacefully to be with his Lord on February 9, 2010. Larry was born to Howard and Lois Barton January 19, 1950 in Killeen, Texas. He graduated from Killeen High School in 1968 and then earned his B.S. in Marketing from Texas A&M University in 1972.

Larry then worked for Woolworth's in Texas, Oklahoma and Missouri and was later in a Finance position at Central Texas College in Killeen. In 1985, Larry was hired as director of the Student Union at Oklahoma State University, where he earned his Master's Degree in Higher Education, graduating with a 4.0. In 1993, after eight years with Oklahoma State University, he accepted a position with Texas A&M University at Corpus Christi where he went on to become the Assistant Vice President of University Services. Larry's concern was always for the students, that they would have the best tools available to obtain a higher education. He served as Project Coordinator for the Student Center, and the first two phases of Camden Student Housing. Larry was instrumental in helping to grow the University from a two year to a four year school until his early retirement due to Early Onset Dementia in 2004. Outside of work, one of Larry's greatest passions was hunting. He loved the outdoors and harvested many bucks, turkeys, and birds. Larry loved to dance and was the smoothest on the floor.

Larry was predeceased by both of his parents, and grandparents. He is survived by his wife, Cindy of twenty-four years, his three sons, Forrest Barton (Tiffany) of Killeen, Lance Barton (Sharon) of Corpus Christi, Texas Brock Barton of Corpus Christi; granddaughter, Brianne Barton of Corpus Christi; brother, Jim Barton (Connie) of Lampassas, Texas; sisters, Glenda Bush (Jim), Shirley Pipkin (Bill) of Killeen, as well as many aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. until 7:30 p.m., Thursday, February 11, 2010 at Cage-Mills Funeral Directors, 4901 Everhart Road and then Larry will be transferred to Killeen, Texas. Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Friday, February 12, 2010 at Crawford-Bowers Funeral Home in Killeen, Texas with a rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. that same evening. Funeral mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, February 13, 2010 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Killeen and the burial will follow at Salado Cemetery in Salado, Texas.
