My Tears
Tears streamed down my face when I saw you that way,
I love you daddy I will love you everyday.
Although I feel sorrow and am very upset,
God has all power and for that I must respect.
Tears streamed down my face when I saw you that way,
I love you daddy I will love you everyday.
One Love Uhuru, you would say to me,
One Love Daddy, you have been set free.
Tears streamed down my face when I saw you that way,
I love you daddy I will love you everyday.
We did a lot together throughout the years,
So I'm gonna wipe away my tears.
And with my head held high, and tears drying from my eyes,
I say thank you Lord for my Daddy, and I say my last goodbyes.
Oh! But wait goodbyes are not forever and Heaven awaits us all,
So I will see you again Daddy when I answer Jesus' call.

Sit Back
It’s time to sit back Larry and relax; no more worries no more pains,
Sit back Larry God’s got this; He’s the one that reigns.
Sit back Larry and relax, you lived your lives plan,
Sit back Larry it’s okay; no more problems are at hand.
Sit back Larry and relax, God will show you how,
Sit back Larry you fought a good fight, but you fell asleep now.
Sleep Larry, rest your heart and soul, for heaven awaits your coming,
Sleep Larry, rest your heart and soul, for heavens gates are opening.
Sit back Larry and relax, no more worries no more pains,
Sit back Larry God’s got this; He’s the one that reigns.
You will be truly missed but heaven awaits,
God sees you walk through His Pearly Gates.
So until we see you again,
Sit back Larry for He reigns.

My deepest sympathies to the family, Larry Joe was a true warrior who did not retreat from any challenge. We went through some harrowing times while at Sonoma State as we strode for a formal education to go with our inherent street smarts. I shall feel sadness forever that I didn't get to visit him during this past year. But I appreciate, for all times, the love, respect and companionship shared with this fellow soldier; as he fought gallantly on a unique battleground during a tumultuous time at an unsympathetic place – but we made it! R.I.P. Larry Joe!

My heartfelt sympathy to the Blakeney Family for your loss. I met Larry Joe while attending Sonoma State University. Larry could light up any room he walked in to. He never met a stranger and was alway joking, but could also be very serious. After he earned his Masters Degree, I took one on his classes which gave me a opportunity to explore how the Civil Rights movement improved opportunities for all women accross the nation. I lost touch for many years until I caught up with Gulley, who being the loving person he is informed me that Larry was in poor health and could use a call. I was fortunate to speak with Larry briefly several months ago when inspite of his ailments he attempted to joke about the past. It was clear that Larry truly loved his children and family. I give thanks for the opportunity to have one final laugh with Larry Joe Blakney.

First of all I would like to express my condolences to Vicky and the Boys and the Blakeney family. Some 36yrs. ago I met Larry while both of us were attending Sonoma State Colledge I was a new student there and had no place to stay and Larry offered me a place at his house that was the kind of guy he was, we became friends just like that and developed a friend ship that lasted for several years where we had great times togather and even some sad times. I lost connection with Larry for many years but reconnected with him when I moved here to Vegas. I found out that Larry was here in Oct. 2010 I visited him in the hospital almost every day where we shared my laughs and even some tears but we never stoped talking about the good times that we had at sonoma state and we shared so many good memorys of the good times we had. It was so good to see my friend laugh again after all the pain that he was going through he fought to the end and I'll miss him very dearly. R.I. P. MY FRIEND Your buddy Rosie
