Larry Calderon, age 60, of Covina went to heaven on Tuesday, April 15, 2014, after losing his battle with cancer. He was born at White Memorial Hospital in Los Angeles, CA on June 20, 1953 to parents Larry and Hope Calderon. He attended Belmont High School and received a degree in Engineering from Westech College. He married Delia Florez on June 13, 1975 in Las Vegas, NV.
Larry was a Mechanical engineer working in Product Development. He worked on numerous projects you may be familiar with, such as The Nordic Track and The Magic Bullet Blender. He was very passionate about his work and career. He was a perfectionist. Larry enjoyed restoring his 64 Chevy Impala, going to car shows, walking the Swap meet with his dad, building model cars and detailing every car he ever owned. Although, he enjoyed restoring Chevy cars, he was dedicated to FORD. He also enjoyed playing horse shoes, bowling and cycling. If he wasn't in his office working, we could find him sitting in his favorite recliner watching a Dodger game, a Laker game or any one of his favorite programs. As a young man he owned a 1967 Chevy Caprice and was a member of The Imperial Car Club. In the early 80's he owned a Kawasaki motorcycle that he really enjoyed riding. Larry loved taking his family on vacations to Yosemite, Grand Canyon and to Ensenada. He taught his family how to camp, go fishing and horseback ride. He always supported his grandchildren with all their activities from recitals to art shows, football games and baseball games. Baby Jane was his favorite pet Lhasa Apso dog. They were inseparable for 9 years.
Larry is survived by his wife Delia Calderon; three children: Marcella Delgado; Laura Calderon; and Lorenzo Calderon. He also is survived by three grandchildren: Alexis Medina; Jeremy Serapion; and Adam Delgado.
Services were held at Immaculate Conception Church in Monrovia, CA. He was laid to rest in Oakdale Memorial Park in Glendora, CA.

"I miss you brother. I sometimes reach for the phone and just want to say "Hi". And then I remember your gone. Mom and Dad really miss you. We are trying..." Catherine(Cathy) Calderon (San Gabriel, CA)
