Mr. Larry Hardwick age 74 of Griffin, passed away Thursday, July 4, 2013, at his residence.
Mr. Hardwick was born in Griffin on January 29, 1939, to the late Leslie Armon Hardwick and Ila Nelson Hardwick. After 35 years of service, he retired as plant foreman from Kelly Springfield Tire Company. Mr. Hardwick served his country in the United States Navy as well as the Georgia Army National Guard and was a member of Carver Road Baptist Church.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Doris Ruth Brown Hardwick and one step-son, Ricky Faulkner.
Survivors include his daughter, Leslie Thompson and husband Tim of Griffin; step-son, Jimmy Harville of Griffin; step-daughters, Michelle Faulkner of Riverdale and Shari Morrow of Daytona Beach, FL. Other survivors include his grandchildren, Dylan and Daniel Thompson; step-grandchildren, Jessica and Ruthie Harville; Sara and Chris Faulkner, Misty Jones and husband Tony, Michael Morrow and wife Pam and Kayla Morrow as well as eleven step-great grandchildren.
Funeral services for Mr. Hardwick will be conducted on Sunday July 7, 2013, at 2:00PM in the Chapel of Haisten McCullough Funeral Home with Rev. Gene Turkett and Rev. Tom Summers officiating. Interment will follow in Oakhill Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Saturday July 6, 2013, from 6:00PM until 8:00PM at the funeral home.

Leslie and family, I'm so sorry for your loss. Larry and his parents (and of course his dog, Blackie) provide fond childhood memories for me. In adulthood, Larry was always available to show his support of extended family.
