Larry Miller

February 3, 1946 - May 31, 2014

Lawrence John Miller was born on February 4, 1946 in Santa Ana, CA to Robert Lester and Isabel Miller. They also had a son Robert L Miller Jr, who passed at the early age of 24 years old in 1966. Larry graduated from Garden Grove High School in 1964; in 1966 he joined the Coast Guard Reserves at the age of 20 years old. In the fall of 1967 he started college as a Sociology Major, he was a lover of life and hoped to change the world, being out in nature and his love of music were the most important to his everyday life, especially Elvis and Jazz, he excelled in his trumpet playing and joined the marching band while in the Coast Guard Reserves. Larry was a scholar and a gentleman, stoic and a romantic, a handsome devil who married and loved all three women during his lifetime. He had a beautiful daughter Vanessa Karin with his first wife on July 9, 1975. She went on to marry Timothy Ashley Welchman on October 10, 1998, Tim and Vanessa gave him two beautiful grandchildren Gregory Ashton Welchman born April 11, 200 and Karissa Ashlyn Welchman born on May 24, 2008. In 2010 he stood on the brink of a new life, by moving to Las Vegas, NV to be with his daughter and family. He loved to spend hours at the local parks walking and hiking or just sitting in nature reading the many books he obtained from the library, but his life was cut short and on May 31, 20014 Lawrence passed from a massive heart attack. He is survived by his daughter, grandchildren, many friends and loved ones.
