I didn't get a chance to say goodbye, nor did you ever let me know if you were in bad health, but I suppose you didn't want me to know. I'm so lucky to have met you, and I know your soul will still be with us still at Cracker Barrel. Please watch over us and stay in my heart forever. I will miss you but never ever forget you. <3

To the family of Skeebo. I first met him through one of his coffee buddies, my father. The times I saw him he was always such a treat to be around.
He had such a great time telling my son a few years ago when we visited the coffee buddies, what his first name was and that he didn't want to be called by that name because it was a girls name. My son was so engrossed and delighted with the secret, that as we left that day he announced (quite loudly) Bye, Laurin. My son was son tickled as Skeebo acted upset with a twinkle in his eye and a wink.
Skeebo will be missed by all whose lives he touch. I am so thankful that my life has been blessed with knowing him.
God bless and keep all of you in his arms through this time.

You won't know me, but I was privileged to be a friend of "Skeebo" for over 50 years, meeting him through work at Western Electric Co. This was when AC Corp. was located in the ORD area for a number of years. I still remember "Skeebo" leaving the Burlington plant and playing the "Dukes of Hazard" tune on a horn-like device he had in his truck! ( Anything to put a smile on your face!) I know you will miss him terribly...he was truly a special person.

To the family of skeebo,
Just a note to say, I lost one of my best friends. Skeebo and I worked together at AC Corp. for 30 years. Oh, what memories we shared of the good and bad. But I will never forget that he's one of a kind. Memories that will last forever.

Dear Betty and family,

My heart goes out to all of you for your incredible loss. As you know, Skeebo was like an 'uncle' to me after growing up next door for 17 years. He gave me my first job cutting his lawn every week and helped me ride my first bike. I will miss him dearly but have a childhood lifetime of memories to remind me of how kind and generous of a man he was.
No one could've asked for better neighbors than Betty and Skeebo and I'm so glad I stopped by on that December day back in 2009 to say hello.

God bless,
Peter Noakes

Dear Betty Jean and family,
You won't know me by name but I am one of Skeebo's cousins.(I'm a Grandaughter of Aunt Catherine Peele's Sister, Rosa Bullard Williams). I saw Skeebo from time to time and we enjoyed our short "visits" and talking about family, etc.
I was so saddened to hear of your loss and will be praying for all of your family thru this time of grief.

God bless all of you.

Betty & Guys,
We are so sorry for your loss. Skeebo will be greatlly missed by many of us. I could not beleive it when Dick Bean called me. He did not look that bad on Thursday afternoon when I came by the hospital. But we never know when it is our time. You know the bible says we all have a time to die. I just didn't think his was so close. Sorry but we will not be able to come to visit you guys. We are at the beach. Be assured you will be in our prayers.
God Bless,
Sandy & Becky Burcham
