LEONARD, Lawrence Vernon 85 of Englewood, passed away peacefully Monday, June 19, 2017 at Brookdale of Englewood with his family at his side. Lawrence leaves to cherish his memory his beloved wife of 64 years, Shirley (Cable) Leonard, daughter Julie Orihood and fiancé Phil Baker, son Lawrence J. and Virginia Leonard; grandchildren Natalie Byrd and her fiancé Ethan Pipenger, Maggie and Josh Beam, Nick Orihood, Joseph Leonard, Kyle Leonard, Lacey Leonard. Also surviving are his sister Shirley and Jim Williams, three brothers Dale and Judy Leonard, Robert and Carol Leonard, Gerald and Lois Leonard, several nieces and nephews. Lawrence was born March 31, 1932 in Penison (Pike County) KY to Joseph and Lula (Kilgore) Leonard who precede him in death, also preceding him are four brothers Gordon, Delmar, James and Donald Leonard and sister Mildred Ashley. He was retired from Lau Blower after 43 years of service and was US Air Force Veteran. He loved all sports and especially loved his grandchildren. There will be a Gathering of Family and Friends at ST. PAUL CATHOLIC CHURCH, 1000 West Wenger Road, Englewood, Wednesday, June 21, 2017 starting at 12:30 pm, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 1:30 pm with Fr. James Seibert C.PP.S. celebrant. Burial will follow in Royal Oak Memorial Gardens. Contributions in memory of Lawrence may be made to the Parkinson Association; www.centralohioparkinson.org. Arrangements entrusted to the Tobias Funeral Home Englewood Chapel. Messages of sympathy and support to Lawrence's family may be made at: www.tobiasfuneralhome.com.
