Lawrence G. Ballard, age 87, of Tuscaloosa, died Dec. 2, 2010, at Hospice of West Alabama. Graveside services will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Grants Creek Baptist Church Cemetery in Fosters with Bro. Billy Joy officiating and Sunset Funeral Home, a Dignity Memorial Provider, directing.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Frances Ann Ballard.
Survivors include his daughter, Laura Sanders (Doug); his son, Danny Ballard (Peggy); his brother, Clifton Ballard (Myrtle); his grandson, Daniel Lawrence Rice; his great-grandson, Mason Ward Rice; his step-grandchildren, Roddy Sanders (Kim), Doug Sanders, Jr. (Teresa), Christy McClary (Robbie), and Michael Pittsenbarger (Brittany); and his step-great-grandchildren, Chelsey Rae Sanders, Cameron Douglas Sanders, John Mark McClary, Amanda McClary, Chloe Elizabeth Pittsenbarger, and Kelly Christina Pittsenbarger.
Pallbearers will be Danny Ballard, Doug Sanders, Sr., Roddy Sanders, Daniel Rice, Doug Sanders, Jr., Michael Pittsenbarger, and John Mark McClary.
Honorary pallbearers are Ballard Electric, Inc., Radiology Clinic, Harmony Hill Trucking, Donna Brown, Jim and Jennifer Wood, Bobby Hemphill, Dave and Bonnie Wookman, and Dental Care South.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Hospice of West Alabama.

We are sorry for the loss of your dad and grandfather. We have some good memories of our past visits with him and Frances Ann. May God be with you during this difficult time.
