Obituary

.Lawrence Asbury Bryant – 78, departed September 11, 2012, to spend eternity with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. He was a graduate of Chattanooga High School and Georgia Tech where he earned a degree in Electrical Engineering. A Registered Professional Engineer, he had a long career with TVA as a design engineer and engineering supervisor. He was a member of the IEEE and served on a national standards committee. He served in the US Army Reserve and attained the rank of captain. Lawrence was a long-time member of Brainerd Baptist Church where he served as a Sunday School teacher, deacon, and engineer for the church television ministry....

Lawrence was a long-time member of Brainerd Baptist Church where he served as a Sunday School teacher, deacon, and engineer for the church television ministry. He was an active member of the Chattanooga Radio Control Club and a bluegrass musician.
He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Mary Lou McCarroll; son Dr. Steven L Bryant (Nita) of Austin, Texas; daughter Dr. Susan Roberts (Micky) of Maryville; grandchildren Bryanne Cooke, Laura Beth Roberts and David Roberts; sisters Evelyn Campbell of Nashville, and Miriam Harmeling (Mark) of Morristown, Tenn.
A memorial service celebration will be held at 2:30 p.m., Saturday, September 15th at Brainerd Baptist Church with Dr. Robby Gallaty and Rev. Chris Moses officiating. Interment will be in Hamilton Memorial Gardens.
