Lawrence H. Sanderson, 73, of Medina, NY, passed away on Monday, January 6, 2015 at the Orchard Manor Nursing Home after a lengthy illness. Born November 7, 1941, in Medina, NY , he was the son of the late Hugh and Martha Adell (Bathrick) Sanderson. Larry graduated Lyndonville High School in 1959 and attended RIT, studying Business Administration. He entered the Navy on October 15, 1959 serving 3 years and was stationed in the Atlantic, Mediterranean and the Caribbean Sea. Lawrence H. Sanderson, 73, of Medina, NY, passed away on Monday, January 6, 2015 at the Orchard Manor Nursing Home after a lengthy illness.

Born November 7, 1941, in Medina, NY , he was the son of the late Hugh and Martha Adell (Bathrick) Sanderson.

Larry graduated Lyndonville High School in 1959 and attended RIT, studying Business Administration. He entered the Navy on October 15, 1959 serving 3 years and was stationed in the Atlantic, Mediterranean and the Caribbean Sea. After his Navy service he returned to Medina where he worked with Donald Rorick in the ready mix concrete business. He bought the concrete business, Oak Orchard Concrete in 1974 and owned it till 1996. He bought the Oak Orchard LP gas business in 1978 until 1988. At one time he was an associate of Double Dips in Medina from 1982 to 1989. He was a Member of the Medina Masonic Lodge #336 for over 50 years and a Member of the Rochester Shrine. He was a member of the Ridgeway Republican Committee for over 17 years. He was elected in 1992 as a Village Justice in Medina and the Town of Ridgeway, serving 20 years, retiring In November 2014.

He enjoyed spending time at his Lake Ontario cottage.

He is survived by his two sisters and a brother, Sue (William ) McGrath of Rochester, NY, Richard (Suzanne) Sanderson of Lyndonville, NY and Mary (Rick Briggs) Sanderson of Rochester, NY . Several nieces and nephews. Dear friend, Karen Collette of Medina and many special friends.

Relatives and friends may call on Saturday, January 10, 2015 from 2-4 at the Bates & Tuttle Funeral Home, 226 Pearl Street, Medina, NY 14103. Memorials may be made in Larry's name to Hospice of Orleans County, PO Box 489, Albion, NY 14411.
