LeRoy F. Anderson, II, born August 07, 1941 in Toledo, Ohio, passed away on October 31, 2011 in Dallas, Texas. He was the son of Leroy F. Anderson, I and Marguerite and Philip Pearl, who preceded him in death. He is survived by his wife, Sharron Lanier Anderson; son, Bret Anderson, wife Jennifer, grandchildren Brandon and Kayla; daughter, Kristin Stampini, husband Mark; son, Matthew Anderson.
LeRoy graduated high school at the age of 16, served his country in the U.S. Air Force during the Cuban Missile Crisis, achieved his MBA from the University of Michigan, was the first person at IBM to contract a $1 million sales deal, and retired as a partner from Ernst & Young.
More than anything, he valued and loved his time spent with his family and friends. He was an avid sports player and fan, and was passionate about football, billiards, tennis, golf, and snow and water skiing. He also enjoyed NASCAR and Indy Car Races, and was a diehard maize and blue University of Michigan football fan.

LeRoy was one of those people that touched your heart and you never could forget him. He was such a leader in elementary, junior high and high school. I attended his wedding in Toledo also. He planned my college schedule my freshman year which I couldn't have done without him. What a great, great friend he was. Love Judy

When I remember LeRoy, I also think of our innocence growing up in the 50's and the good clean fun we had back then. LeRoy, who was somewhat more priviledged than some of us, was always a down-to-earth guy. And he was a good friend.
Two special memories for me: In high school, after my parents had passed, my grandmother came to live with my siblings and me. I had an accident with the family car and my grandmother was very upset with me. That very night LeRoy called to ask if I wanted to go for a Coke.He was so supportive and said, "That's wjy it's called an accident." I've used that a lot through my life when it's appropriate as a reminder that there does not always need to be someone to blame. Accidents just happen. So when I say "That's why they're called accidents," I always think of him.
My good friend Judy Moore Hard was invited by LeRoy's wife Sharron to his 50th birthday party in Pasadena. I was visiting her in San Diego at the time, so off we went on an adventure to find his house. We found it, and as we walked up, he was standing outside and looked very curiously at these two women walking up the driveway. Fortunately, he recognzied his birthday surprise before we were face to face.(It had been several years since we had seen him.) It was a lovely party and we got to meet his wife and some of his friends. And there was Handsome, fifty-year-old LeRoy, as down-to-earth as ever.
My sincere condolences go to his family. May it help to know that his many friends have him in their hearts and in their memories.

LeRoy came to Newbury School in the fifth grade and made quite an impression on the teachers and students. He was a leader from the start. At Jones Jr. High, he set high standards for the other boys with his wonderful wardrobe. LeRoy looked terrific is all of his pink and black clothes. On the 8th grade train trip the girls would pretend that the train swayed so much we would land in his lap while walking down the aisle. Silly junior high girls--but he thought it was fun. Summers at Clark's Lake were a lot of fun. Mr. and Mrs. Pearl had a mobile home behind the Beach Bar. LeRoy had a boat and took us water skiing everyday. My younger sisters thought the world of him because he would take them for boat rides. He graduated from Libbey High School in three years and was missed our senior year. Since he went to the Univ. of Toldo that year we still all got to see him. He encouraged me to go to college and even planned my schedule for that first semester. Leroy was a wonderful friend of mine since the age of ten. I was lucky to have had him in my life. What great memories. Judy Moore Hard

Leroy was the first guy in our 7th grade class at Jones Jr High in Toledo to have pegged pants: 2 pair: pink with a black stripe down the side and worn with a black shirt and the other black with pink stitching worn with a pink shirt. He was amazingly good looking and smart : a real heart throb - but even more important he had a great personality and was NICE to everyone. Those of us who stayed in the Toledo area missed him thru the years......It is difficult for those of us who knew him "when" to realize that he has passed on - our prayers go now to his family. Although I have not seen LeRoy since we were in high school together more than 50 years ago, I have always remembered him with fondness. He was one of the sweetest persons I've ever been privileged to know.

My dear friend LeRoy was a terrific man! What a smile, wit and beautiful heart. I have many fond memories of time with him and Sharron that make me smile and warm my heart. I only wish life had allowed us to spend more time together. I pray that your sense of loss and sadness quickly turn to smiles and rememberance of the wonderful man you had in your lives and were able to call your husband, father and friend. I hope the reminder that we will all see him again one day with that big smile on his face provides a little comfort! Our prayers, thoughts and love are with you now.

LeRoy, you were my mentor and valued business partner, but above all you were my fondest and most trusted friend. You worked hard, played hard, and never gave up. Rest well, my friend.

I am saddened to learn of the passing of LeRoy. I am grateful for having the chance to know him, learn from him, and live with him after college. He was a wonderful man that treated me like a son (even if I didn't quite always deserve it). So I will take this chance to remind myself how precious life is and at least for the time being try not to take it for granted.

LeRoy was an amazing person. He was very gifted, generous, great sense of humor, a consumate gentleman and an all-around amazing host. He often thought of others first . When Sharron and LeRoy returned to live in Texas many years ago, he surprised Sharron with 2 new black kittens adopted from Operation Kindness. We will miss LeRoy. Our heartfelt condolences go out to his wife Sharron and the Anderson family.
