Lee Roy Castillo of Arlington, TX passed away on Thanksgiving evening at the age of 76. Originally from Konawa, OK he relocated to Arlington, TX after high school in 1958 and met the love of his life, Geraldine (Jerrie) Nivens of Dallas, TX. They married in 1961. Lee Roy was drafted into the Army in 1963, serving his country until being honorably discharged in 1965. He returned to Arlington, became a butcher, and built his life around his family. Lee Roy was a very fun and loving man who enjoyed working with his hands either in the meat department, wood working shop, or just around the house. He had a passion for collecting knives, watches, and eagle figurines. You could always count on his smile and chuckle to brighten up your day. Lee Roy is survived by his wife of 55 years, Jerrie; his children, Kim Acosta and Lee Roy Castillo Jr.; his grandchildren, Gabriel, Alexis, Adriana, and Ginny; and many friends. He joins his daughter, Annette Castillo, in heaven.

I miss you so much dad! You fought a horrible disease long enough. You deserve to be in heaven now with God, Annette, uncle Earl, Grand Dad and Grand Ma. You are able to walk and talk again, once again you can be heard! We miss you so much down here but I know one day we all will be together again! I love you and miss you so much!

It will never seem real, you being gone. As I sit here now I am thinking "I can't wait to see dad today. See what kind of trouble I can get us in." Whether it was McDonald's or ice chips you were always in. You are not only my father but you are also my friend. You believed in me when no one else did. You encouraged me when it seemed like all hope was lost. You never gave up on me and I am so grateful for that. God knew what he was doing when he put me in the care of you and mom. He knew only someone that was strong, kind and patient would do. Since July you fought so hard. I am so proud of you, now rest in peace, a peace, you so deserve. Until we meet again .....I love you.
