Lee R. Bevan passed away peacefully on Saturday December 7, 2013. He was born in Bloomington, Illinois on October 3, 1924. While growing up and attending school he often worked on the family dairy farm in Illinois. During WWII Lee entered the Coast Guard and proudly served in the Pacific theater from 1943 to 1947. Following active service Lee moved to Florida in 1947 where he worked for a local dairy business. This is where he met his wife of 60 years. Lee and his wife Ellen where married in 1954. Lee R. Bevan passed away peacefully on Saturday December 7, 2013. He was born in Bloomington, Illinois on October 3, 1924. While growing up and attending school he often worked on the family dairy farm in Illinois. During WWII Lee entered the Coast Guard and proudly served in the Pacific theater from 1943 to 1947.
Following active service Lee moved to Florida in 1947 where he worked for a local dairy business. This is where he met his wife of 60 years. Lee and his wife Ellen where married in 1954.
Lee attended Armstrong Business School where he finished his bachelors in accounting. While in Florida he was the director of accounting for the Pinellas County Schools education department until he retired in 1986. During retirement Lee loved to play golf and often times enjoyed relaxing with his family and listening to music.
He is survived by his wife of 63 years Ellen Bevan, son Todd Bevan, daughter Lori Bevan and 3 grandchildren.
A visitation followed by a service is scheduled for Sunday December 15 at 11 am at Serenity Gardens Funeral Home.
