Obituary, English:



Leila F. Castillo, 92, of Altamonte Springs, Florida went to be with her Lord on March 13, 2017. She was born October 4, 1924 in Mayaguez, Puerto Rico to the late Ildefonso and Praxedes Feliciano. Leila was a beloved mother, sister, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend. She was strong in her Christian faith, and very involved with her church (Forest City Seventh Day Adventist Church). Leila was a tremendous mother, caring for her sons after her husband’s passing in 1972. She moved with her youngest son to Florida from New York in 1976. Leila always stayed busy. She worked customer service at school cafeterias, as she enjoyed being around children, as well as at Florida Hospital. She also served as a crossing guard and a caregiver to many. She cared for people who were sick or had surgeries. She had a giving and nurturing heart for people, delivering food through the Meals on Wheels program and taking them to doctor’s appointments. Above all, Leila loved her family and spending as much time as she could with them. She was proud of her grandchildren and the outstanding individuals they have become. She will be deeply missed by those whose lives she impacted with her generosity and love.



Leila was preceded in passing by her husband, Alberto Castillo; her brothers Victor and Jose Abel Feliciano; and her sisters Elsa Cintron and Violeta Delgado.



She is survived by her sons, Daniel Castillo (Instructional Designer) and his wife Dr. Glenda Castillo, Albert Castillo (Technical Project Manager) and his wife Julie (College Professor); brothers, Samuel and Thomas Feliciano; sister, Rosa Julia Felix. Leila’s grandchildren are Dr. Daniel F. Castillo and his wife Dr. Ashley Castillo, Giovanny Castillo (Computer Engineer), Xavier Castillo (Customer Service Specialist) and his wife Sarai (Nursing Assistant), Jasmine Castillo (Customer Service Specialist), and Marisol Goss (Bio-Medical Researcher) and her husband Robert Goss ­(Network Engineer); as well as two step-grandchildren, James and William Mooney (College Students), and 5 great-grandchildren: Gavin, Kian, Elijah, Thalia, and Analia.



Visitation will be held Friday, March 17 from 5-9pm at Baldwin Fairchild West Altamonte, 90 Weathersfield Avenue, Altamonte Springs, Florida 32714. Service will follow on Saturday, March 18 at 10am at the funeral home. Interment following service at Highland Memory Gardens, 3329 E Semoran Blvd, Apopka, FL 32703.

Nació el 4 de octubre de 1924 en Mayaguez, Puerto Rico. Sus padres fueron Ildefonso y Praxedes Feliciano. Leila fue una amada madre, hermana, abuela, bisabuela y amiga. Ella fue fuerte en su fe cristiana, y muy involucrada con su iglesia (Iglesia Adventista del Séptimo Día de Forest City). Leila fue una madre amantisima, cuidó de sus hijos después de que su esposo falleciera en 1972. Ella se mudó con su hijo más joven de Nueva York a la Florida en 1976. Leila permanecía siempre ocupada. Ella trabajaba en el servicio al cliente en el distrito escolar, ya que disfrutaba estar cerca de los niños, así tambien trabajo en el Florida Hospital. Ella también cuido de muchos. Ella se preocupaba y atendia a las personas que estaban enfermas o tenían cirugías. Tenía un corazón que daba y nutria al projimo, participo en el programa "Comidas sobre Ruedas" donde voluntariaba entregando comidas a quienes no tenian los medios de cocinar por si mismos. Asi tambien llevo a muchos a citas medicas. Sobre todo, Leila amaba a su familia y pasaba tanto tiempo como podía con ellos. Estaba orgullosa de sus nietos y las personas sobresalientes que se han convertido. Ella será profundamente extrañada por aquellos cuyas vidas impactó con su generosidad y amor.



Leila fue precedida al pasar por su esposo, Alberto Castillo; Sus hermanos Víctor y José Abel Feliciano; Y sus hermanas Elsa Cintron y Violeta Delgado.



Le sobreviven sus hijos, Daniel Castillo (Diseñador Instructivo) y su esposa la doctora Glenda Castillo, Albert Castillo (Gerente de Proyecto Técnico) y su esposa Julie (Profesora de Universidad); Hermanos, Samuel y Tomas Feliciano; Hermana, Rosa Julia Felix. Los nietos de Leila son el Dr. Daniel F. Castillo y su esposa la doctora Ashley Castillo, Giovanny Castillo (Ingeniero Informático), Xavier Castillo (Especialista de Servicio al Cliente) y su esposa Sarai (Asistente de Enfermería), Jasmine Castillo (Especialista de Servicio al Cliente) y Marisol Goss ( Ing. Bio-Medica ) y su esposo Robert Goss (Ingeniero de Redes); y 5 bisnietos: Gavin, Kian, Elijah, Thalia y Analia.



La visita se llevará a cabo el viernes 17 de marzo de 5-9 pm en Baldwin Fairchild West Altamonte, 90 Weathersfield Avenue, Altamonte Springs, Florida 32714. El servicio seguirá el sábado 18 de marzo a las 10 am en la funeraria. El servicio funerario se realizara en los Jardines del Recuerdo localizado en 3329 E Semoran Blvd, Apopka, FL 32703.

Como una mujer de Dios, siempre iluminó con su testimonio de amor a los que le rodeaban, por lo que solamente queda dar gracias al mismo Señor por la calidad de hijos e hijas como la hermana Leila, que nos recuerdan lo que el Señor dijo, que los cristianos serían luz y sal de mundo. Y la hermana Leila fue un testimonio vivo de este mensaje del Señor.
