Lena M. (Fiorito) Ianuzzi, 96, of Sherrill, formerly of Fairmount, passed away peacefully Monday March 17, 2014 at St. Joseph Nursing Home in Utica. She above all loved being a homemaker. She lovingly dedicated her life to raising her family. During her lifetime, she worked for Pass & Seymour, Syracuse China, William Importing Company and eventually retired from Wells and Coverly Department Store. Lena was a Syracuse native for most of her life and in 2000, moved to Sherrill, NY to be close to her family. She was a past member of the West Side and Camillus Seniors and a communicant of Holy Family Church in Vernon and a former communicant of Holy Family Church in Fairmount prior to moving to Sherrill. Throughout her life, she enjoyed baking, bowling, crocheting and playing cards. She was an avid tennis fan who enjoyed watching and playing the game. Lena also enjoyed spending the summer months at her daughter's camp on Bradley Brook Lake. She was predeceased by her husband of 54 years, Frank in 2000 and her four siblings, brothers, Joseph, Michael, and Anthony Fiorito, and sister, Grace Scibilia.
Surviving are her daughter; Sharon (Philip) Spencer, of Sherrill, a son, Michael Ianuzzi, of Camden, 2 granddaughters; Catherine (Marco) Spoletini, of Sherrill and Barbara (Karl) Sandleben, of Sherrill, 5 great grandchildren; Alessandra and Francesco Spoletini and Dante, Karissa and Gianna Sandleben and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted at 9:15 am Friday March 21, 2014 in BAGOZZI TWINS FUNERAL HOME and 10 am at Holy Family Church, Fairmount, where a Funeral Mass will be celebrated. Family and friends may call from 6 to 7 pm Thursday March 20, 2014 at BAGOZZI TWINS FUNERAL HOME, 2601 Milton Ave.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in her memory to the Alzheimer's Association of CNY, 441 W. Kirkpatrick St., Syracuse, NY 13204.

My sister told me about Aunt Lena's passing and I just wanted to express my condolences. I still remember the Fiorito holiday get-togethers and how much she, her siblings and the spouses all enjoyed talking and laughing together. My thoughts are with you.
