Filer, Idaho:

Lenden Wayne Gunter, 65 of Filer passed away on Saturday, May 31, 2014 at his home in Filer.

Lenden was born January 18, 1949 in Salmon, Idaho to Kermit and June Gunter. He started his life in Stanley, Idaho before his family moved to Hansen, Idaho where he lived until graduating from Hansen High School. He furthered his education at college on a football scholarship. Following his education he returned to Twin Falls where he worked for Newton and Schaffer Engineering as a surveyor for a number of years and a short time for JUB Engineers. This opportunity led Lenden to begin his 33 year career for the US Forest Service. He worked for the Forest Service as a grader operator during the summer months and in the fall months he went and inspected the Forest Service bridges in the mountains and back country to ensure their safety. He retired from the Forest Service in October 2011; however that did not slow him down he continued to work the summers supplying the firefighters with supplies and food as they battled forest fires around this area.

Lenden married Cindy Hill on June 7, 1977 and together they had one son, Christopher Wayne Gunter. Cindy passed away from cancer at age 27 when Chris was only 6 months old. On April 5, 1985, Lenden married his best friend and soul mate, Reva Johnson. Lenden and Reva enjoyed each other's company and did everything together; they loved to travel and spent a lot of time on the Oregon coast and this past year in Maui.

Lenden always looked forward to October where he would spend time with family and friends at the Fairfield Ranch "hunting camp" especially with his hunting buddies, Don, Jason and Pat. He always loved being camp host and cook. He especially enjoyed the many trips with family and friends to Mexico to go deep sea fishing.

Lenden is survived by his best friend and loving wife, Reva; his mother, June; his brother, Jerry (Tami Slatter); his sister, Sherri (Jay) Robison; and his brother, Ben (Angie), as well as many cousins and close friends.

He was preceded in death by his grand-parents, Ben and Ada Gunter and Dave and Olive Blew; his father, Kermit; his brother, Clayton "Fuzz"; baby sister, Kermia and son, Christopher Wayne.

At Lenden's request there will be no funeral service. A celebration of his life will be held with family and close friends at the Fairfield Ranch at a later date.

Arrangements are under the direction of Trent Stimpson and staff at Reynolds Funeral Chapel in Twin Falls, Idaho.

Condolences may be left for the family by visiting www.reynoldschapel.com.
