Leo H Tosch age 97, of east Peoria IL passed away at 10:20pm Friday May 12 2017, at Rosewood Care Center in East Peoria IL.
He was born on November 11, 1919, in Witt IL, to John and Lydia (Bahlow) Tosch.
He was married to Doris A. Storey from 1941 to 1943.
He married Lucille Schmidt on March 8th 1947 she survives.
Also surviving are four children Linda and Larry both of East Peoria, Lowell (Joanne) Tosch of Big Rock, IL, and a daughter from his first marriage Judy Schisler of Santa Rosa, CA; three grand children, one great-grandchild and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his sister Violet and brother in-law Arnold Lawrence.
Leo graduated from Manual Training High School in 1939. He served in the United States Air Force during World War II. He flew 34 missions with the eighth Air-force primarily as a tail gunner. He was honorably discharged with the rank of Sergeant.
Leo worked as a route salesman for Colonial Bakery then Blue Star Potato Chips. He retired from the parts department at Caterpillar.
He enjoyed fishing playing golf and even made a hole in one in his eighties at Quail Meadows on the ninth-hole par three in East Peoria. He also loved baseball and was an avid St. Louis Cardinal fan.
He was a long time member of Christ Lutheran Church in Peoria where the funeral services will be held on May 18, 2017. A Visitation will be held from 10am to 11 am and a funeral service will follow starting at 11am.
A burial will be held after the funeral service at Swan Lake Memory Gardens in Peoria, IL.

Linda and Larry so sorry to hear that your dad passed away. I don't get the newspaper and just found out. I would definitely have been at the visitation and funeral. Your mom and dad were such good friends to my mom and dad. Thinking and praying for you. Take care.
