Leon was one of the sweetest men I have even known. When we were stationed in Germany, he visited and traveled with us. Later he sent videos of the Smothers Brothers and cartoons to our children weekly. My son Travis was born the morning after Christmas and his middle name is Leon.

While growing up on Wenger Road, Leon was the big brother of my best friend and next door neighbor, Deb. Leon would sometimes amuse us by pushing Deb and me around their house in a large cardboard carton . . . called me "Sandflea." I wasn't crazy about the nickname, but knew it was friendly "big brother" teasing. Nothing but fond memories come to me when thinking of him. RIP, Leon.

Leon was my first, and my very best friend. I am proud to be his sister. He was a wonderful son, brother, and uncle. I am heartbroken.
