Leon Jerome Allec(1923 - 2014) . Allec, Leon Jerome, beloved husband and father, passed away peacefully at home August 3, 2014. Leon was born in Placentia, CA, October 29, 1923 to one of the original pioneer families of Orange County. He was a 4th generation Californian and grew up farming the land in Anaheim and Placentia. Leon was a member of the United States Navy and served on the Liscomb Bay Aircraft Carrier as a naval pilot during the battle of Tarawa during World War II. Allec, Leon Jerome, beloved husband and father, passed away peacefully at home August 3, 2014. Leon was born in Placentia, CA, October 29, 1923 to one of the original pioneer families of Orange County. He was a 4th generation Californian and grew up farming the land in Anaheim and Placentia. Leon was a member of the United States Navy and served on the Liscomb Bay Aircraft Carrier as a naval pilot during the battle of Tarawa during World War II. He settled in Anaheim with the love of his life, his beloved wife of 62 years, Harriet. Leon is survived by Harriet and their two daughters, Rebekah Maresh and her husband, Carl of Tolland CT, and Cosette Schaaf and her husband, Doug of Yuma, Arizona along with 7 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. Leon is also survived by his devoted sister, Therese Lee and her husband, Dave, along with numerous loving nieces and nephews. Leon was predeceased in death by his brother, Daniel Allec and his sister, Sr. Mary Lucille O.P. Leon loved the land and the ocean and caring for his home. He had friends in many walks of life and was very respected for the simple yet strong man he was. Most of all, he loved his family and faith. He was devoted to his wife and children and was the strength of the family. His faith in God never waivered. He was an active communicant of St. Anthony Claret Church for 62 years serving for many years as a Eucharistic Minister. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him. Leon's funeral Mass will be at 10:00, Friday, August 8 at St. Anthony Claret Church. The Mass will be held in the parish hall. Family and friends are invited to attend. Burial will follow at Holy Sepulcher Cemetery.
