Leonard W. (Bud) Cook age 79 of Waynesburg went to be with the Lord Monday, January 28, 2013 at the Golden Living Center at Waynesburg.
He was born March 18, 1933 at Waynesburg a son of the late Stella Cook Murray.
On January 10, 1959 he married W. Dorene Kern Cook, who survives.
Mr. Cook was a retired security guard for Round Hill Foods at New Oxford, PA.
A veteran of the Korean War, he served in the U.S. Army from 1956 to 1962.
He was a former resident of Elwood City and New Oxford. He returned to Greene County in 1995. He was a member of Trinity Baptist Church at Waynesburg where he served on the board of trustees. He was an avid hunter.
Surviving in addition to his wife are a daughter, Betty D. Anderson (Charles) of New Oxford; four sons, David L. Cook (Stacey) of Littlestown, Paul R. Cook (Loretta) of Rogersville, James Cook (Crystal) of Kuhntown, and Thomas Cook of Harrisburg; 12 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; 8 sisters, Ellen Jane Crawford of North Carolina, Shirley Follett of Confluence, Dorothy Husonica of Ellwood City, Rexine Ruby of Rochester, Carol Sue Buchanon of New Castle, Betty Jane Young of Ellwood City, Martha Kettle of Ellwood City, and Dee Spice of Florida; 2 brothers, Scott Murray and Ted Murray both of Ellwood City.
Deceased is a daughter, Shirley May Cook; a sister, Bertha Lou Urnick; one granddaughter; and two great-grandchildren.
Friends will be received 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday and 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Behm Funeral Homes Inc,. 182 West High St, Waynesburg and from, 10 to 11:00 a.m., the hour of services on Friday, February 1, 2013 at Trinity Baptist Church 821 E Roy Furman Hwy, Waynesburg with Pastor Edward Woods officiating followed by interment at Pine Bank Cemetery with graveside military honors by American Legion Post 330, Veterans of Foreign Wars 4792 and Disabled American Veterans 123. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Trinity Baptist Church.
