Norfolk - Leroy A. Cascell, Jr. of Norfolk, VA., born December 2, 1941, passed away peacefully Sunday, March 29 surrounded by his loving family.Leroy was predeceased by his parents Lois Keller Cascell and Leroy Cascell, Sr., sister Helen Bedsole and brother Donald Cascell. Left to cherish his memories are his loving wife of 50 years and best friend, Ann Newton Cascell of Norfolk, son Steve "Cascell" Hoggard and wife Cindy, granddaughters Megan Gooch and husband Joshua, and Allison King and husband Dennis, sisters Vernell Chism of AZ & Suzan King-Richie, brothers Grayson, and James all of NC; Aunt Sue Sawyer of Norfolk; and Uncle Jim Keller of Virginia Beach. Leroy was loved by many nieces and nephews with special mention to Sherry Bedsole Wissman and husband Eddie and Clifford Bedsole of NC; and his faithful companion and friend Bracket.Leroy proudly served in the U.S. Army and went on to work in government service for Norfolk Shipbuilding and SupShip in Norfolk VA where he retired after 25 years. After retirement for QED up until February of 2014. He was a member of the Knights of Pythias Lodge in Norfolk and enjoyed bowling, shopping and spending time with family and friends.The family will receive friends Thursday, April 2nd from 6-8 pm and a funeral service will be held on Friday, April 3rd at 2:00 pm at Rosewood-Kellum Funeral Home, 601 N. Witchduck Rd, Virginia Beach, VA 23452. Followed by a burial at Rosewood Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to St. Jude or King's Daughters.
