Leroy E. Oliver Sylvania –Leroy Emory Oliver, age 90, passed away on Tuesday, May 27, 2014, at Optim Medical Center - Screven in Sylvania. He was born in Burke County, GA, was a retired farmer, having worked for many years for Wade Plantation and was a member of Bethel Brick United Methodist Church where he was on the Bethel Brick Pastor- Parrish Relations Committee. He was a WWII Army Veteran, a former Screven County Commissioner, former member of the Screven Co. Board of Education and member of the V.F.W. Sylvania –Leroy Emory Oliver, age 90, passed away on Tuesday, May 27, 2014, at Optim Medical Center - Screven in Sylvania. He was born in Burke County, GA, was a retired farmer, having worked for many years for Wade Plantation and was a member of Bethel Brick United Methodist Church where he was on the Bethel Brick Pastor- Parrish Relations Committee. He was a WWII Army Veteran, a former Screven County Commissioner, former member of the Screven Co. Board of Education and member of the V.F.W. He was most remembered for being a faithful husband to his wife of 62 years, Mildred Tullulah Holland Oliver, who preceded him in his passing and for also being a wonderful father. He was also preceded in death by his Son: Donnie Oliver; Parents: Manor Clifton & Belle McCullough Oliver; Brother: L.C. Oliver; Sister: Mary Herrington; Granddaughter: Kristen Oliver.

Survivors: Daughter & Son-In-Law: Becky & William Triplett of Sylvania; Sons and Daughters-In-Law: Cliff & Jan Oliver of Athens, GA, David & Shelley Oliver and Michael Oliver, all of Sylvania; Brother and Sister-In-Law: Rev. Tom & Betty Oliver of Waynesboro, GA; Grandchildren: Susan T. Ellis of Chickamauga, GA, Janna O. Nimmo of Athens, GA, Claire O. Thomas of Coral Springs, FL, John Triplett of Sylvania and Grant Triplett of Statesboro, GA; Great-Grandchildren: Tanner Ellis, Caroline Ellis, Victoria Ellis, Karoline Nimmo, Luke Nimmo, Oliver Thomas and Carlee Triplett; Several Nieces and Nephews.

Visitation: Thursday, May 29, 2014 at 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Thompson-Strickland-Waters Funeral Home.

Funeral Service: Friday, May 30, 2014, at 11:00 AM at the Bethel Brick United Methodist Church with Rev. Tom Oliver and Rev. Kitty Newton officiating. Burial in Bethel Brick United Methodist Church Cemetery.

Pallbearers: Travis Nimmo, Justin Thomas, John Triplett, Grant Triplett, Steve Ellis, Bryan Janney, Nathan Janney and Tanner Ellis. Honorary Pallbearers: Members of Bethel Brick United Methodist Church.
