Leslie C. Bruce, 90, born May 5, 1923, in La Veta, CO; died January 15, 2014, peacefully at home in Pueblo. Preceded in death by parents, Mary and George Bruce; wife, Barbara M. Bruce. Survived by children, Leslie (David) Breland, Lynda (Manuel) Eurioste, Lynette (Danny) Carter; six grandchildren, Danny Joe (Star) Carter, Brandi (Matt) Artley, Timothy (Aiyana) Eurioste, Cassidy (Pat) Garcia, Lesley (Eric) Castro, Reef Breland; thirteen great-grandchildren, Sadi and Carly Artley, Rya Chacon-Eurioste, Analeigh, Ariana Eurioste, Aidan Eurioste, Isaiah, Nevaeh, and Gabriel Garcia, Isabella and Alexander Fresquez, Caleb and Cristo Castro. Les was retired from the Pueblo Board of Water Works. He was at his happiest in the mountains, hunting and fishing, and spending time with family. He enjoyed his numerous, very good and faithful friends, Ted (Eillene) Brenan, Don (Joy) Martin, Didi Oldemeyer and Monica (Larry) Pacheco. He was a proud veteran of the military, serving in the US Army. He was also a proud member of the Pueblo ELKS Lodge. Les was a good man who put others first. He was a "worry wart" who even at the end was worried about others. He will be sadly missed, and joyfully remembered by all who knew him. Viewing, 4-5 p.m., Sunday; and Funeral Services, 2 p.m., Monday, January 20, 2014, both to be held at TG McCarthy Funeral Home. Interment, Imperial Memorial Gardens.
