Obituary

Lester L. Platt, 90, of Davenport passed away on Friday, August 29, 2014. Funeral services will be 12:00 P.M. on Wednesday, September 3, 2014 in The Runge Mortuary Chapel, Davenport. Visitation will be one hour prior to service. Burial will be in Our Savior's Kvindherred Cemetery, Calamus, IA. Memorials may be made to the family. He was united in marriage to Clara Voss on December 7, 1956 in Davenport. Lester served in the U.S. Navy during WWII in the South Pacific. ...

Lester was born November 30, 1923 in rural Calamus, IA. The son of John and Bertha (Olson) Platt. He was united in marriage to Clara Voss on December 7, 1956 in Davenport.
Lester served in the U.S. Navy during WWII in the South Pacific.
Lester retired from the Davenport Police Department after 31 years of service. Gardening , fishing, watching football and baseball with his grandson Brandon were some of his favorite things to do.
He is survived by his loving wife Clara of 58 years, children, Lyle (Lisa) Wiggins and Deborah Allchin ; grandson Brandon Wiggins.
He is preceded by his parents and three brothers, Orville, Merlin, and Emerson.
