LILLIAN CLINE Lillian Virginia Yarnall Cline, 78, of Statesville died Tuesday, April 9, 2013, surrounded by her family at Davis Regional Medical Center. She was born January 19, 1935, in Shamokin, PA, and was the daughter of the late Melvin Yarnall and Anna Rogers Yarnall. She retired from Hunt Manufacturing in 1998 and was a member of Chapel Hill United Methodist Church. She enjoyed spending time with her three granddaughters, stamp collecting, crocheting, Tar Heel basketball and pulling for her favorite NASCAR driver, Kasey Kahne. Lillian Virginia Yarnall Cline, 78, of Statesville died Tuesday, April 9, 2013, surrounded by her family at Davis Regional Medical Center.
She was born January 19, 1935, in Shamokin, PA, and was the daughter of the late Melvin Yarnall and Anna Rogers Yarnall. She retired from Hunt Manufacturing in 1998 and was a member of Chapel Hill United Methodist Church. She enjoyed spending time with her three granddaughters, stamp collecting, crocheting, Tar Heel basketball and pulling for her favorite NASCAR driver, Kasey Kahne. Her family always enjoyed her telling about living on Kodiak Island, Alaska, and hunting for Kodiak bears with a .22 rifle.
On June 2, 1951, she married Charles Lewis Cline who preceded her in death on March 30, 1997.
She is survived by her daughter, Darla Cline (Blain) Ramsey; her son, Wesley Craig Cline (Brenda), both of Statesville; three granddaughters, Emilee R. (Rusty) Chester of Taylorsville, Amanda B. Cline (Chris) of Statesville, and Elizabeth V. Ramsey of Alexandria, VA; two brothers, Donald M. Yarnall of Blasdell, NY and Allan D. Yarnall of Statesville; in-laws, David and Mary Cline, Helen Little and Pauline "Polly" Hollar and Jim Lentz, all of Statesville; a very special extended family, Mark, Alison and Taylor Pigg of Statesville; and her sweet little poodle, Missy.
Funeral service celebrating Lillian's life will be held at 2:00 PM Thursday, April 11, 2013, at Chapel Hill United Methodist Church. Burial will follow at Iredell Memorial Gardens.
Mark Ellis, Todd Ellis, Steve Sherrill, Steve Brown, Scott Lentz, and Mark Pigg will serve as pallbearers.
The family will receive friends in the church fellowship hall from 12:45 to 1:45 on Thursday prior to the service. At other times, they will be assembled at the daughter's residence on Pleasant Drive, Statesville.
