Lillian Loretta Lowery Kincaid, 86, formerly of Lenoir, passed away Sunday, July 14, 2013 at Valdese Hospital.
Born May 27, 1927 in McDowell County, she was the daughter of the late Joseph Lowery and Lillie Willis Lowery.
Mrs. Kincaid retired from Henredon Furniture, having worked as a technician in the cabinet room for 18 years, and was a member of Littlejohn United Methodist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, James Vernon Kincaid, Sr. who passed away in 2005; one daughter-in-law, Shelia Kincaid; four brothers, Arthur Lowery, Albert Lowery, Virgil Lowery, and Lester Lowery; and three sisters, Eula Swafford, Faye Hennesse, and Pat Orr.
Those left to cherish her memory are her son, James Vernon Kincaid, Jr. of Hickory; two daughters, Janice Hartley of Lenoir, and Gail Bennett and husband Howard of Morganton; eight grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; one sister, Lois Jensen of Florida, and two brothers, Robert Lowery of Tennessee, and Eugene Lowery of Michigan.
Funeral services honoring Mrs. Kincaid will be held Tuesday, July 16, 2013 at 12:00 pm at Littlejohn United Methodist Church with Rev. Allen Bolick officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 11:00am – 12:00pm at the church.
Serving as pallbearers will be Bob Hartley, Shawn Hartley, Frank Hartley, Tyler Lawing, Ronnie Elderth, and James Vernon Kincaid, III.
Memorials may be made to Littlejohn United Methodist Church 4120 Littlejohn Church Road Lenoir, NC 28645.
