Lillie Mae Barnum, born March 27, 1918, in Kingston, Arkansas to James and Nancy (Stills) Parker, departed this life to be in eternal glory on October 2, 2012, in Midwest City, Oklahoma at the age of 94. Lillie, formerly of Pryor, Oklahoma, has lived with her son in Choctaw, Oklahoma for the last four years enjoying her 2 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren at regular family gatherings. Beyond her love for her family and her little dog Mindi, Lillie had a passion for playing golf, singing in the church choir, crossword puzzles, and art. Her artistic talent was useful when she was employed as a commercial artist for Montgomery Ward...
Lillie Mae Barnum, born March 27, 1918, in Kingston, Arkansas to James and Nancy (Stills) Parker, departed this life to be in eternal glory on October 2, 2012, in Midwest City, Oklahoma at the age of 94.
Lillie, formerly of Pryor, Oklahoma, has lived with her son in Choctaw, Oklahoma for the last four years enjoying her 2 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren at regular family gatherings. Beyond her love for her family and her little dog Mindi, Lillie had a passion for playing golf, singing in the church choir, crossword puzzles, and art. Her artistic talent was useful when she was employed as a commercial artist for Montgomery Ward drawing ladies and children's clothing ads for the Detroit Free Press and other publications.
Lillie is survived by her sister Inez and husband Clayton Cowan, sister in law Betty Parker of Pryor, son Joe and wife Joan Carter, granddaughter Beth Carter, grandson Jon Carter and wife Angie, great grandchildren William, Caleb and Kierstan of Oklahoma City. She was preceded in death by her parents, four brothers Tillman, Charlie, Bee, and Colman, three sisters Frances, Iva, and Hazel.
Memorial Service will be Saturday, October 6 at 1:00 P.M. at the Sunny Lane Funeral Home.
Lillie will be interred in the Okmulgee Cemetery, next to her beloved husband William Barnum, on Monday at 10:30 A.M
