ArrangementIn Memory of Linda K. Marcus
Linda K. Marcus passed away in Modesto, Sunday, March 5, in the arms of her family, after a painful fight for life. She was preceded in death by her parents, Max and Vivian Buettgenbach. She is lovingly remembered by her sisters, Kathleen Schoen and Darlene Buettgenbach, and her daughter and husband, Debbie and Dan Thomas, as well as her grandsons and their wives, Robert and Jennifer Smith, and Thomas and Samantha Smith. Her great-grandchildren, Andrew, Landon, and Bridget Smith were the unreserved loves of her life.
Born in Nebraska, Linda graduated from high school in Spokane, Washington, and began nurses training before marrying and travelling to Louisiana and California. She spoke that Louisiana accent her entire life. She loved to travel all over the US and cruised the Caribbean and the Panama Canal, and Alaska, as well. She was planning a cruise even as death overtook her.
Linda retired from Farmers Insurance after 32 years in Merced. She was a Claims Services Manager, who thoroughly enjoyed helping people. So many of her friends were Farmers' coworkers.
Her later years in Modesto were spent spoiling her great-grandkids and baking cookies. She brightened the lives of everyone she smiled at, and she smiled at everyone.
