Obituary

Linda was a life long and proud Oregonian, having been born in Portland and graduating from Franklin High School in 1959. She met Robert Allen, who also attended Franklin High School. The couple were married on September 9, 1960 at Waverly Heights Congregational Church. The couple had three children: Laura, Mark, and Matthew. The family moved into a house they built in Tigard in 1966, where she continued to live until her death. Bob passed away in June 1976. Linda proudly raised all three children, never re-marrying. Linda worked as the financial secretary for Calvin Presbyterian Church for approximately 20 years. She was a strong supporter of her children, usually seen at school events, baseball games, and many other activities. Linda had a green thumb and kept a beautiful yard. She loved the beach, especially Rockaway Beach on the Oregon coast where she and Bob had a cabin. Linda traveled with her group of lady friends; one of her favorite destinations being France. Linda loved the outdoors and learned to ski at the age of 38. Linda had three grandchildren: Lindsey, Mitchell, and Kate and they called her "Bad Gramma." Her "tough love" approach will continue to guide us. She would frequently say "snap out of it" and tell you "love your face."

She will be missed. We love you mom.
