Linda came to Canada in March 1946 determined to enjoy her new life. She was active in many groups in Sault Ste. Marie and Thunder Bay including her church, the Maycourt Club, Questers, Community Concerts, Meals on Wheels and in Fort Frances was the founding president of the Aquanaut Swim Club. She was a competent and steadfast First Mate to her seafaring husband as they cruised the Great Lakes but most of all she was a steadfast support and companion to her husband and a successful and loving mother to her children. Never deterred she skied, rode horseback, flew in bush planes and gliders, sailed in Lake freighters and in Ocean freighters to Australia – wherever there was adventure. Now she has left us. "Dear Pat and Jane, Chris, Tim, and Sarah, We were deeply saddened to hear of Linda's passing and wished that we could have had a visit and given hugs all..." Mary & Merridy Cox (Toronto)
