Linda L. Laffoon, 75, passed away on Friday, January 26, 2018 at home in Des Moines, IA. A Memorial service will be held 10 a.m. Monday, February 5, 2018 at Early Chapel Christian Church in Earlham with entombment of cremated remains at the Iowa Veterans Cemetery in Van Meter, IA.
Linda was born December 11, 1942 in Mason City, IA to Hennell Llewellyn James and Edna Ione (Seward) Hinman. She worked for many years beginning with Northwestern Bell in Mason City/Ankeny and then AT&T in Des Moines/Atlanta, GA as an Operator. After retiring from AT&T, she worked a few more years at Southwestern Bell until she moved back to Iowa. In her earlier years, she loved being a Den Mother for her boys in Cub Scouts Pack 19 and a Girl Scout Leader for her daughter in Garner, IA. Linda loved to knit/crochet, watch movies and take her dog for a walk. She was a member of Early Chapel Christian Church.
Linda is survived by her children, Steven (Jackie) Bohn of TX, Alan (Pamela) Bohn of ID, Michael (Nancy) Bohn of Des Moines, Richard (Sue) Bohn of Des Moines, Christina (Todd) Chapman of Adel, Theodore (Melissa) Bohn of KY; step-son, Eric (Amanda) Laffoon of WI; eight grandchildren, Jackson Bohn of Des Moines, Brandon (JoAnn) Bohn of Runnells, Aaron Bohn of Des Moines, Karissa Bohn of Des Moines, Jenifer (Garrett) Regan of Canada, Kendra Chapman of Adel, Brittany Chapman of Adel, Megan Chapman of Adel; six great-grandchildren, Adilyn, Landon, Liliana, Lucas, Norah, Kinsley; sister, Sandra Anderson of AR; and brother, Tom James of OK. She was preceded in death by her husband, Leonard "Spud" Laffoon; parents, Hennell James and Eda Hinman; and brother, Jack James.
Memorial contributions may be directed to Early Chapel Christian Church in Earlham.

Mom your the best mom ever!! I will miss you all the rest of my days. I just wished I was able to talk to you one more time. I know you are with Spud & that's where you want to be. But you will be truly missed. Love you mom so very much!
