Linwood B. Montgomery Sylvania –Linwood Bran Montgomery, age 70, passed away on Tuesday, June 17, 2014, at his residence in Sylvania. He was born in Halifax, VA, worked as an associate with O'Reilly Auto Parts in Sylvania and was a member of Believers Church in Sylvania. He was a veteran of the South Carolina Army National Guard from which he retired, as a Major, after 22 years of service. He was preceded in death by his parents: Norman & Elizabeth Wilkins Montgomery. Survivors: Loving wife of 33 years: LaWana Harrell Montgomery of Sylvania; Daughter: Margo M. He was a veteran of the South Carolina Army National Guard from which he retired, as a Major, after 22 years of service. He was preceded in death by his parents: Norman & Elizabeth Wilkins Montgomery.

Survivors: Loving wife of 33 years: LaWana Harrell Montgomery of Sylvania; Daughter: Margo M. Medlin of Gastonia, MC; Son: William Reid Montgomery of Gastonia, NC; Step-Sons and Daughter-In-Law: Verne Pickren, III of Sylvania and Mark & Audrey Pickren of Folkston, GA; Sister: Joy Montgomery of Roxboro, NC; Brothers and Sisters-In-Law: Grayson & Sandy Montgomery of Jacksonville, FL and Gene & Ann Montgomery of Hillsboro, NC; Sister-In-Law: Minnie Ella Montgomery of Roxboro, NC; Grandchildren: Gage Pickren, Jamie Pickren, Colton Pickren, Jolie Pickren, Ben Pickren, Allie Medlin, Dillon Medlin and Reid Montgomery; Several Nieces and Nephews.

Visitation: Thursday, June 19, 2014 at 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Thompson-Strickland-Waters Funeral Home.

Funeral Service: Friday, June 20, 2014, at 2:00 PM at Believers Church in Sylvania with Rev. Clint Williams officiating. Burial in Screven County Memorial Cemetery with full military honors. He will lie in state at the church from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM.

Pallbearers: Military Personnel. Honorary Pallbearers: Rich Morss, Emerson Scott, Charles Oglesby, Gary Mills, Bob Simm and Ken Harlan.
