Lloyd was the adventurer of his large family and, upon graduating from high school, he flew to Israel to work on the Kibbutz Aliyah Desk. When he returned, he joined the US Air Force for four years working on the F-106 Delta Dart Interceptor in the 5th Interceptor Squadron in Minot, North Dakota.

After leaving the Air Force, he entered the exciting life of working in the NASA Space industry as a technician working closely with many astronauts. He was especially close to the astronauts of the ill-fated Columbia Mission under the command of Rick D. Husband and the crew: William C. McCool, David M. Brown, Kalpana Chawla, Michael P. Anderson, Laurel B. Clark, and Ilan Ramon. Lloyd also worked closely with our beloved John Glenn when he conquered space again at 70 years of age in 1998.

He was proud of his Catholic upbringing and believed in the everlasting love of our Lord, Jesus Christ. Lloyd had a love of reading about history, traveling and exploring new places and meeting new people.

He loved his six brothers: Allen and wife, Ann; Frank and former wife, Nancy; Mark and wife, Justi; Matt (deceased) and former wife, Tina; Travis and wife, Isolde; and, Ralph III and wife, Lisa; and his two sisters, who were especially dear to him: Ramona Armintor Gates (and deceased husband, Richard) and fiancé, Ragan Benson; and, Rosie Armintor Rucker and husband, Steve.

He sends gifts of love to his numerous nieces and nephews: Chris Armintor and wife, Maribeth; Amanda Armintor McVeigh and husband, Rick; Mollie Armintor and friend, Paul Lange; Benjamin Armintor and friend, Vimala Pasupathi; Mary Armintor; Mark Armintor, Jr. and Kyle Armintor; Dewayne Gates and previous wife, Jennifer; Lacy Gates Jones and husband, Andy; Carly Rucker Sifuentes and husband, Jesse; Anna Rucker; Sofia Armintor; Chris Williamson; Max and Townes Armintor; and, deceased angel, Amber Armintor.

Lloyd leaves us with many loving thoughts and memories of laughter, admiration and love.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, August 15, 2013 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Advantage Howard-Glendale Chapel.

Funeral Services will be held on Friday, August 16, 2013 at 11:00 AM at Advantage Howard-Glendale Chapel. Interment will follow at South Park Cemetery in Pearland, Texas.
