Lloyd H. Martin, 85, a longtime Framingham resident died Monday, April 9, 2012, at his home, surrounded by his family. He was the beloved husband of Janet M. (Barber-Shaw) Martin. He was born in Natick, April 25, 1926 the son of the late Hugh Francis Martin and the late Grace Lena Henderson. Besides his wife Janet, he leaves behind his stepchildren Lisa Knoch of Florida, Julie Boudreau and her husband Shawn of Ashland, and Michael Shaw of South Carolina as well as his sons Louis Martin and Lloyd (Boe) Martin, Jr. and their mother Esta-Helen Martin. Lloyd H. Martin, 85, a longtime Framingham resident died Monday, April 9, 2012, at his home, surrounded by his family. He was the beloved husband of Janet M. (Barber-Shaw) Martin. He was born in Natick, April 25, 1926 the son of the late Hugh Francis Martin and the late Grace Lena Henderson. Besides his wife Janet, he leaves behind his stepchildren Lisa Knoch of Florida, Julie Boudreau and her husband Shawn of Ashland, and Michael Shaw of South Carolina as well as his sons Louis Martin and Lloyd (Boe) Martin, Jr. and their mother Esta-Helen Martin. He was pre-deceased by his brother John Martin of Kentucky. He was the cherished grandfather of Matthew, Daniel, Sheri, Amber, Brittany, Paul, Michael and Nikki and great-grandfather of Kaiden and Zamian. He attended school in Somerville where he spent some of his youth. During World War II at age 16, he enlisted in the Navy and served aboard the LST US517 in the English Channel. After World War II, he graduated from Franklin Technical Institute in Boston. He worked at Printed Electronics Inc. of Natick before his employment at Temple Beth AM of Framingham where he was Administrator of Buildings and Grounds for 40 years before retiring at age 76. During his tenure at TBA he was adored by members, function planners, guests and all children from many generations. He also served as a special police officer with the Framingham Police Department. He enjoyed his annual vacations to Maine, and traveling throughout Europe, England, Hawaii and other US destinations. He enjoyed attending his grandchildren's sporting events. He will be missed by family, friends and all that met him. Services are Thursday, April 12th at 11:00AM at Temple Beth AM, 300 Pleasant Street, Framingham. Shiva will be held at his residence following the service until 8:00PM and continue Sunday, April 15th from 2:00PM to 5:00PM. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial gifts in Lloyd's memory be sent to Temple Beth AM, "Lloyd Martin Youth Scholarship Fund" 300 Pleasant Street, Framingham, MA 01701 or Parmenter Community Health Care, 266 Cochituate Road, Wayland, MA 01778.
